# LayerWise Documentation

> LayerWise is a free Photoshop plugin by Pulze that turns V-Ray, Corona and FStorm render elements into organized, masked PSDs, and keeps them up to date when you re-render.

LayerWise is a Photoshop plugin for arch-viz post-production. Point it at your render elements and it builds the PSD for you: passes sorted into groups, set to the right blend modes, with masks already cut from your multimatte and alpha passes.

When the client asks for changes and you re-render, LayerWise swaps the new files into the same PSD. Your adjustment layers, masks, smart filters and layer styles stay put.

## What it's good for

* **Starting a post-production PSD in seconds.** Pick your render output folder and a template, and LayerWise builds the whole layer structure. No more dragging in 20 passes by hand and setting each one to Linear Dodge.
* **Re-renders without redoing your work.** Update a finished PSD with tonight's renders. Each render element layer gets its new file, and everything you built on top survives.
* **Multichannel EXRs, as they are.** Rendered everything into one EXR? LayerWise splits it into passes for you, no extra software needed.
* **Masks from your mattes.** MultiMatte, CMasking\_Mask and luminance passes such as Alpha or ZDepth become layer masks on groups, ready for selective adjustments. With a Cryptomatte, pick any object or material after rendering to get its mask.
* **Region renders.** Merge a re-rendered region back into the full image, cropped by its alpha.
* **Your studio's structure, every time.** Save your group structure as a template and share it with your team, or keep it in the cloud.
* **Tedious fixes in one click.** Reset layer transforms, collapse groups, batch-convert to smart objects and more.
* **AI assistants.** If you want, let Claude or another AI app drive Photoshop through LayerWise.

LayerWise replaces **Pulze Post Manager**. Coming from Post Manager? See [Migrating from Post Manager](https://docs.pulze.io/layerwise/migrating-from-post-manager.md).
